2018 Pastor Appreciation Lunch

October is National Pastor Appreciation Month with the second Sunday set as the special day to honor our pastors. Let us take this opportunity to thank and encourage our Pastors in GPCCC, even take a minute to pray with and for them. 

Patchwork Sisters Ministry will be organizing a special lunch on Friday, October 26^th in honor of all Pastors and their wives, Administration staff, and Elders, at the Courtyard in the office building. Lunch is at 12:00 pm. 

We invite all Ladies, except for Pastors’ wives and administration staff to participate in one, two or all of the following ways in this Pastors Appreciation Lunch.

1.     Prepare or buy an appetizer, entrée or dessert. Bring it to the lunch on Friday. Love to have you stay for lunch.

2.     Contribute any amount for the event. Give it to Shirley Wan when you see her before October 26^th.

3.     Come for the lunch to fellowship with all present. Your presence will be an encouragement to the staff and the organizer.

4.     Help organizer to set up for the lunch at 11:00 am. 

Please text, call or email Shirley Wan to inform on your contribution or if you have any question. May the Holy Spirit be the One guiding and blessing the work for this event and God be pleased and honored with this. Thank you.

2018 No Sew Blanket Fellowship

We invite you, your family and friends to join our Annual No-Sew Fleece Blanket Making Fellowship. The blankets that we make will keep many hearts and bodies warm this winter. This is a great community service project as we share the love of Jesus simply through the warmth of a fleece blanket! 

We will meet on Saturday, October 20th at 10 AM in the Fellowship Hall. We should finish by 1 PM.

For first timers, we will show you how to make the no-sew blankets, no experience needed!

Tools and materials needed to make the blanket:

1. a pair of sharp fabric scissors
2. sewing pins or safety pins
3. blue painter's tape
4. Two pieces of matching fleece that is 48 inches x 60 inches or 72 inches x 60 inches.

Or you can purchase Fleece Blanket Kits from Joann .  You can also sign up for coupons.  
         

If you do not have time to shop for the materials, we will have extra fleece/fabric available for you to make a blanket at the fellowship. We will have a box for voluntary donation and we encourage you to sponsor a blanket.

We will serve a light brunch and you are welcome to bring a plate (fruits or snacks) to the table.  We should wrap up by 1 pm. 

*** Update ***
This year, we will be donating the blankets to the residents of the Care Center at Westchester Senior Living.  Westchester is operated by Volunteers of America, a Christian non profit organization that has multiple programs for the poor, homeless, veterans, elderly and other vulnerable populations.  They operate over two dozen Senior Care centers; Westchester being one of them.  We will have a program of Christmas carols, a short message and then distribution of blankets and interaction with the residents on Dec 8.  More details will be available later.

2018 Spring Fellowship
