Christmas Cookies Exchange

My dear Sisters in Christ, many of us have been blessing one another during the Christmas season by way of exchanging Christmas cookies with each other.

We would like to keep this Patchwork Sisters tradition. So, will you bake some cookies, bring them on Sunday, December 12 at 12:30pm (right after Sunday School) to the Breezeway (due to space constraint in C102 we have a table in the Breezeway for this purpose) for a joyful time of sharing. If you don't bake or do not have time to bake, store bought cookies are welcome too.

If you still have containers from previous year, please bring it. Otherwise, we provide paper plates and plastic wrap. If you would, please bake a little more so we can prepare some special gifts.

Pam Bakas will help to coordinate this occasion. Please contact Pam or myself if you have any question.

Winter Quarter Sunday School

This quarter, we will be learning from The Truth Project by Focus on the Family. To paraphrase information that comes with the material, this is a dvd-based study designed to equip Christians with a comprehensive biblical worldview in the areas of Philosphy and Ethics, Anthropology, Theology, Science, History, Sociology etc. We will be reintroduced to the truth claims of God for all of life so that our actions match up to our core beliefs.

Date: starting on Dec 5, 2010
Venue : C102 (First room on Fellowship Hall Building)
Time : 10:50 am to 12:30pm (DVD study will be begin at 11 am sharp)

Please note that we will be doing things a little differently because :
1. the selected room is in classroom setting and has the facility needed for this purpose;
2. we need to start at 11 am sharp so that we would not short change any part of the study.
So, please come in earlier to sign in, get some snacks, visit with one another etc before we run the lecture.

You may visit www.thetruthproject.org to learn a little bit more about this program. I have learned that God has used this project to renew minds and transform lives in a great way in quite a number of churches. Let's pray that our Lord will do the same with us.

Tina Zhong and myself will be the facilitators for this quarter. If you have any question, please call or email any one of us. Thank You and we do hope many of you will be studying with us.
Meanwhile, let's be diligent in seeking the Lord and honor Him in all we do . His peace and joy be with you.

Love,
Shirley Wan

Seeking helpers for Christmas Decorating

Patchwork Sisters Ministry will coordinate the Christmas decoration for our church's worship center on Friday, December 3rd, 7:30pm - 9:30pm.
Pizza dinner will be served at 7pm. For those of you who need to send your child/children to Awana, bring them along for the pizza dinner before that.
We need a minimum of 15 ladies. The more hands we have the earlier we get the job done. You do not need to be super creative. Specific area will be assigned and instructions will be given. Please help as we prepare for the celebration of our Lord's birthday. Take this opportunity to fellowship with one another.
We also need help to take down and pack up all decorations on Friday, January 7th 2011 at 7:30 - 9:30pm. A minimum of 10 ladies are need for this.
If you can be part of the team, please email Shirley Wan and indicate the date you will be here to help. Thank You. Your participation will be much appreciated.

2010 Touching Hearts Mentoring Program

(From Liang-Lee Loi)
Greetings to each one of you in the name of our Almighty Jesus Christ. I am pleased to announce that this year's mentoring program will run between May 2nd and October 31st (both dates inclusive). Some of you may have heard about the program over a period of time. It is now official. The Introductory Meeting will be held on April 25th, Sunday, between 1:30PM and 3:30PM.

To quote Janet Thompson, author of "Woman to Woman Mentoring", "Mentoring means using the wisdom that comes from life experiences to help others who are encountering similar experiences in their lives. Christian mentors share how God guides and supports, counsels and consoles, in good and bad times."

Please pray for this program and also pray for God to reveal to each of us on how we can be a part; whether in the capacity of a mentor or to be mentored. Please pray also for those you know who are interested in the program. I look forward to seeing you at the Introductory Coffee this 25th, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm, in Room CO206 at GPCCC.
