2025 Fall GROW Sunday School Class

Class: Behold & Believe
Teachers: Belle, Janet, Kelly
Room B207-208 from 11:10 am-12:30 pm

Class Description and Class Schedule:

Behold & Believe: A Bible Study on the "I AM" Statements of Jesus by Courtney Doctor and Joanna Kimbrel. Crossway. 2024.

Seeing is believing. If we want to know who Jesus is and why he is important to our lives, we need to take a closer look at what he said about himself. Jesus describes himself as the bread of life, the light of the world, the good shepherd, and more. His bold words invite us to behold him—and then to trust him. Whether you’ve never read the Bible, have followed Jesus for years, or find yourself somewhere in between, this 7-week Bible study from Courtney Doctor and Joanna Kimbrel explores the question, Who is Jesus? Using the “I AM” statements in the Gospel of John, readers will learn how to observe, interpret, apply, and reflect on key Bible verses about Jesus’s identity. Class discussion questions and video lessons will help women to see Jesus, trust him alone for salvation, and proclaim his goodness to others.

    Class Description and Class Schedule:

A Journey Through Lent (Psalms Bible Study) by Timothy Keller - DVD Study
Lent is a time in which we anticipate the victory of the light and life of Christ over the darkness of sin and death. It corresponds to Jesus' time in the wilderness. This 7-week sermon series and study guide are from select Psalms which help us in times of self-examination, difficulty, and dryness and invite us to make our hearts ready for remembering anew Jesus' death and resurrection.  Designed to supplement the DVD sermon series, A Spiritual Journey Through Lent, the first 20 class members will receive the 40-day devotional that will take you on a journey from Ash Wednesday to Easter. It begins by reminding us of the reality of our broken humanity, but as days grow brighter, brings us to experience with greater abundance the reality of God's redeeming grace.

"Questions About Prayer" - A Bible study that digs deep into prayer, essential for our relationship with God. Encounter the importance of prayer and recognize hindrances to our prayer life. 2024 Fall Sunday School GROW class

    Dear Patchwork Sisters,

You are encouraged to attend GROW class from 11:10 am- 12:30 pm after worship service from Sep 8 - Nov 24.

This fall, we will be offering an all women class (continuing our study of Saul in 1 Samuel in the spring by) studying David in 2 Samuel.. The first class will be next Sunday September 8, meeting in B207-208.

David is known as Israel's greatest king, but he was not a superhero. He had to fight many battles to establish his throne, and when he did become king, he committed murder, adultery, and brought disaster on his family.  He was a man after God's own heart. David depended on God's grace for forgiveness when he stumbled - the same grace that is available to us today.

A copy of the study guide is encouraged, but not required.
