Patchwork Sisters' Spring Dim Sum Brunch - Drive for the Changing Lives Center

We are hosting a drive the the Changing Lives Center for Women and Children (Phoenix Rescue Mission).  As the only faith-based recovery program in the region offering long-term, comprehensive services, the Changing Lives Center helps single women and mothers with children to rebuild their lives. This 12-18 month program provides a stable, nurturing environment where women are able to work through addiction and abuse issues. They also receive life skills education and other counseling, and ultimately become self-sufficient through career assessment and job placement. - See more at: Changing Lives Center for Women & Children

Items most needed:
diapers, wipes, baby hygiene products, sanitary napkins, tampons, hygiene products (shampoo, body wash/soap, conditioner, lotion, deodorant)

The Changing Lives Center really need your help.  Please drop off donations at the Spring Dim Sum Brunch or call or text Shirley Chang at her cell phone if you have large items for donation and would like to arrange for the items to be picked up.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

2013 Annual Patchwork Sisters No-Sew Fleece Fellowship

It is time for our Annual No-Sew Blanket Making Fellowship again.  We have set the date to make fleece lap blankets on Saturday, November 23rd at 10 AM in the Fellowship Hall.
Let's come together on that Saturday for a Thanksgiving fellowship as we work with thankful hands to
warm hearts : )

We will give a demo to first timers on how to get started with a fleece blanket. For the experienced blanket-makers, we encourage you to find partners and work in pairs (friends, sisters, mother/daughter & son) and fellowship at the same time.

You will need the following items to make a blanket:
------------------------------------------------------------------
1. a pair of sharp fabric scissors
2. sewing pins or safety pins
3. blue painter's tape
4. 1 1/3 (1.333) yard cut each of 2 pieces of matching fleece (1 with prints and 1 solid color) from Joann Fabric,
or you can buy the pre-packaged and matching fleece that is 48 inches x 60 inches in size.
(*Do not get the 60 x 72 inches as that will be too big)

Look out for fleece sales and coupons from Joann Fabric, especially during the Veteran's Day
weekend sale on November 9th till 11th.

If you do not have time to go to Joann's, we will have extra fleece available for those who would like to
come and offer your labor. We appreciate any help we can get.

We will serve a light brunch and you are welcome to bring a plate (fruits or snacks) to the table. We should wrap up by 2 pm.
