2016 No Sew Blanket Fellowship

This year, we will be donating the blankets to foster kids living in group homes. Most foster kids were removed from their parents or guardians, and if no foster homes are available, they are placed in group homes. Grace will be coordinating with the operators of these homes and will give you another update as we move closer to the event.

Jo-Ann Fabric usually will have sales of fleece materials in the coming weeks. Please look for fun and bright designs as our "target audience" will be boys and girls from 5 to 17 years old.

Please come out and enjoy a blessed fellowship with each other!

Event: Annual No Sew Fleece Blanket Fellowship
Location: Fellowship Hall, GPCCC
Date: Saturday, November 19, 2016
Time: 10:30am to 1:00pm

You will need the following items to make a blanket:

Silent Auction at the 2016 GPCCC Harvest Festival

Patchwork Sisters Ministry will be holding a Silent Auction at the 2016 GPCCC Harvest Festival on Monday, October 31st in Room B207/B208.  Proceeds from the auction will be donated to a charity.

First, we would appreciate your donation for any new or gently used item for the auction.  That would be an item you would consider bidding for.  We are looking for:
  • Household items : decorations, wall art, serving platters, bowls, small electrical appliances
  • Books: Christian books, children books, cookbooks
  • Accessories: bracelets, necklaces, scarves, hats
  • Toys: Legos, learning toys, dolls
  • Home-made handicraft (crochet, knitwear, etc), arts, baked goods, special tea or coffee;
  • Admission Tickets to concerts, plays and sports events.
  • Baskets of all shapes and sizes and gift boxes : these will be used to pack items for the Auction.
We are collecting items the next four Sundays on October 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd. Please text or call Sister Pam Bakas if you are bringing your items. Sister Pam Bakas who will be coordinating this event, will wait for you in Room 102 to receive your items.

Please note that organizers will have sole discretion on putting out the donated items for the auction or not. You can choose to take back your item if there is no bid for it, or we can donate it to Goodwill or St Vincent De Paul after the event. Please specify your preference when you drop off your items.

Secondly, please save the evening on October 31st and come out to bid for that special item you will find at this Silent Auction. It will be a fun and meaningful night for all. A few years ago Sister Pam and a few other ladies raised more than a thousand dollars at a Silent Auction during VBS. The proceeds went to mission effort. Together we can once again raised some fund for God’s work.

Please feel free to contact Ms. Pam or Shirley Wan if you have any questions.
